Technical requirements for courses

Browser

A standards-compliant web browser is required. The following browsers are known to work correctly:

BrowserMinimum versionRecommended versionNotes
Google Chrome30.0Latest
Mozilla Firefox25.0Latest
Apple Safari8Latest
Edge86Latest
Edge Mobile45Latest
Microsoft Internet ExplorerNot supported

Other browsers may also work, in whole or in part, and may be used at the risk of the customer. The browser must be able to play video clips in MPEG-4/H.264 format (.mp4 files).

Mobile devices

Lower resolution videos are provided for users of Android devices.  Certain Android devices may not be able to display the higher resolution videos.

iPhone 5 and higher, as well as iPads should be able to display both resolutions.

Small screens are detectable by the software and the screen layout adapted for them. However, this dynamic adaptation is more of an art than a science. Unexpected layouts may be displayed, although they should not prevent using the software. That being said, certain diagrams in the videos may not be easily legible on small screens. A typical laptop- or iPad-sized screen is highly recommended for following the courses.

Internet connection

There is no strict minimum bandwidth or latency for the connection to the internet. The most demanding use of the connection is for video streaming. The video resolutions are deliberately kept modest to accommodate a maximum of users’ connections.
